Microsoft Leaks Latest HoloLens Information
Microsoft increased reality headset called the HoloLens has already won a number of fans eager to try the device, but the details of how it works are rare.
However, some information on HoloLens leak at a recent event in Tel Aviv, Israel, courtesy of Bruce Harris, a technical evangelist at Microsoft.
The device will offer about five and a half to five hours of battery life when working on Word documents or email, and about half past two in use for very intensive computational work involving detailed minutes.
These additional information were revealed by Harris in a YouTube video posted by wearable entrepreneur based in Israel Niv Calederon was primed by Petri IT Knowledge-base Friday.
This video has since been removed, but it also confirms that Harris HoloLens does not heat because it was "built to dissipate heat," and that the device has "no option for a wired connection."
Harris also confirmed that HoloLens can connect to anything with a Wi-Fi or Bluetooth connectivity, audio includes 3D and will only provide support in English for the first version.
He also addressed questions about the field of view (FOV) of HoloLens, saying that experience is like having a 15-inch screen of "far" in your face, how he holds his hands about a foot in front of her face.
Back in December, Microsoft made the HoloLens available for the public to test its flagship Fifth Avenue store in Manhattan. But at $3,000 a pop, the device is really more for developers than the general consumer market.
The HoloLens is scheduled to begin shipping to developers in the first quarter 2016.
